PRINTING METHOD
Digital Direct Print for Custom Bags
Planning a multicolour design or artwork with tonal detail? Start by reviewing the fabric and the intended print area, then discuss whether a direct digital route fits the project.

PROJECT CONSIDERATIONS
What is digital direct printing?
In digital direct textile printing, an inkjet system places a digital image onto the textile itself. Textile systems use different ink types; the phrase alone does not identify the ink, preparation or finishing route. Manufacturer examples demonstrate the category, rather than a machine used by MIFAKTORY.
Here, Digital Direct Print is a broad guide to direct textile printing. It is not a confirmed synonym for direct-to-garment (DTG), and it does not establish whether a project would be printed on fabric rolls, cut panels or an assembled bag.

PROJECT CONSIDERATIONS
When to discuss this route
Bring this option into the review when your brief includes several colours, tonal transitions or detailed illustration. Identify the elements that matter most: a recognisable character, readable small text, a particular colour relationship or an uninterrupted image area. Those priorities give the technical reviewer a clearer basis for assessing a sample.
Provide the fabric composition and any coating or finish if known. Ask which ink-and-material combination is proposed, which preparation and finishing stages it needs, and whether the bag construction allows access to the intended print area. A material name such as canvas does not resolve those questions by itself.
PROJECT CONSIDERATIONS
What to review in the visual result
Compare the proposed print with your actual artwork at the intended scale. Mark any fine outlines, small reversed lettering, pale tones and large colour areas that must be checked. Request a material-based review rather than treating a screen mock-up as the final colour reference.
Discuss the desired feel, base colour, print coverage and care expectations. Do not assume a white ink layer, an invisible print feel, a precise reproduction limit or a durability result from the term digital direct printing. These details need confirmation for the chosen route.
PROJECT CONSIDERATIONS
What to prepare
Share the latest artwork version, intended print dimensions and a drawing showing its position. Include the bag reference, material details, estimated quantity, target market and target date. Identify colour references and any artwork elements that cannot change. Provide the original design file if available; file preparation and accepted formats should be agreed during review.
PROJECT CONSIDERATIONS
Review before approving production
Ask which sample will represent the proposed material, ink system and finishing route. Review colour relationships, legibility, image scale, placement and feel, recording any changes against the artwork version. Confirm whether construction and performance need separate samples or checks. A print approval should state what it covers and which questions remain open.

Plan artwork layout
Decide how the artwork should appear on the finished bag. A repeat pattern and a positioned graphic need different layout instructions, even when they use the same print method.
