PROJECT GUIDE

Testing & Inspection for Bag Projects

Define what needs to be checked, how it will be assessed and which record supports the decision. Colour-fastness testing and bulk-lot inspection answer different questions.

PROJECT CONSIDERATIONS

Two types of review

Colour-fastness testing assesses colour behaviour under specified conditions. Industry methods address different exposures, including rubbing, washing, water, perspiration and light. Choosing one does not establish performance under all the others.

Bulk-lot inspection examines a defined production batch against agreed requirements. Inspection services can review appearance, workmanship, dimensions, quantity and packaging under a specified plan. An inspection record and a laboratory test report are different forms of evidence.

PROJECT CONSIDERATIONS

Colour-fastness Testing

For Colour-fastness Testing, explain the end use and the conditions that concern you. Identify the required method, acceptance criteria and reporting expectations if these are already specified by the buyer. Discuss the specimen, execution party and scope before treating a test name as a complete instruction.

PROJECT CONSIDERATIONS

Bulk-lot Inspection

For Bulk-lot Inspection, identify the order, batch, stage and requirements to be checked. Agree the inspection party, sampling or other coverage plan, defect definitions and decision responsibility. This page does not prescribe an AQL, an inspection percentage or a shipment-release rule.

PROJECT CONSIDERATIONS

Understand what the evidence covers

A photograph of a test or inspection is not proof that a product passed. Read a report alongside its sample or batch identification, method or plan, date and results. Check that it applies to the material, decoration and order under discussion.

A result from another material or earlier order should not automatically be used for a new combination. This guide makes no claim about MIFAKTORY laboratory ownership, third-party appointments, accreditation, test grades or universal compliance. Those details require confirmation for the actual project.

PROJECT CONSIDERATIONS

What to prepare

Share the product specification, intended use, market and any buyer testing protocol. Identify relevant material and print references. For batch inspection, provide the order and assortment information, inspection requirements and packaging specification. Flag missing criteria early so the proposed scope can be reviewed rather than assumed.

PROJECT CONSIDERATIONS

Agree the record and the next decision

Confirm who will conduct the work and what record is expected before arranging it. Review results against the agreed requirements, with any exceptions or corrective actions clearly identified. State who is responsible for the next decision and which further checks are needed. A visual sample approval should not substitute for a required report, and a report should not imply approval beyond its stated scope.

Plan colour and print approvals

Turn a colour target into a clear review brief. Define the reference, the material and the decisions a print strike-off needs to resolve before approving the next stage.

Define special-effect requirements

Show how the brand should appear, then define the finish you want. Logo application, metallic appearance and reflective effects need a clear visual brief and a separate review of feasibility.
