PRINTING METHOD
Screen Printing for Custom Bags
A clear graphic starts with a clear brief. Review the colour separations, print area and material before deciding whether screen printing is the right route for your bag.

PROJECT CONSIDERATIONS
What is screen printing?
Screen printing uses a stencil on a mesh screen to control where ink reaches the surface. A squeegee moves the ink through the open areas. Multicolour work commonly involves separate screens and alignment between colours; the ink system also determines the required curing process.
This describes the general method. The proposed ink, equipment, print stage and material compatibility for a MIFAKTORY project still require review.

PROJECT CONSIDERATIONS
What should guide the choice?
Use the discussion to explain whether your design relies on solid areas, clear outlines, repeated brand colours or fine detail. Identify the number of artwork colours and any gradients or photographic elements. Ask how the design would be separated and which details should be assessed in a sample, rather than assuming every digital image transfers unchanged to this method.
Show the exact print area and the bag structure around it. Handles, pockets, seams and panel edges should be included in the drawing so the reviewer can assess the proposed production stage and access. Ask how those choices affect setup and the commercial proposal; this guide does not set a colour limit or a quantity threshold.
PROJECT CONSIDERATIONS
Review the print, not just the artwork
Mark important edges, adjoining colours, small lettering and large filled areas for sample review. Agree the intended appearance and feel before treating a visual mock-up as an approved result.
Coverage, detail, texture and durability depend on the proposed material and ink system. A screen-printing label alone does not establish opacity on a dark base, exact colour reproduction, a particular finish or a wash-life guarantee. Performance requirements need an agreed assessment of their own.
PROJECT CONSIDERATIONS
What to prepare
Send the artwork version, intended dimensions, placement drawing and colour references. Identify any colour that is essential to the brand, and provide authorised logo files where relevant. Add the material specification, bag reference, quantity estimate, intended use and any care or test requirements. If artwork separation is not available, flag that for discussion rather than creating an assumed production file.
PROJECT CONSIDERATIONS
What to confirm in a sample
Review the proposed colours, alignment, edges, coverage and feel on the identified material. Record approved print dimensions and placement references. Confirm that any requested performance checks and construction approvals are separately addressed. Keep the approved sample reference and artwork revision together so later changes can be traced.

Compare digital direct printing
Planning a multicolour design or artwork with tonal detail? Start by reviewing the fabric and the intended print area, then discuss whether a direct digital route fits the project.
Read the guide →Define placement and repeat
Decide how the artwork should appear on the finished bag. A repeat pattern and a positioned graphic need different layout instructions, even when they use the same print method.
